Every Smart Shelter is equipped with our patented Triple-Locking Door System. It’s helped protect thousands of families during tornadoes and severe weather and has never been breached by a debris impact in 15+ years.
ABOVE GROUND SAFE ROOMS
The Above Ground Safe Rooms are built in two sizes: 4’W X 6’L and 4’W X 8’L.
Permanent seating in the above ground safe rooms were left out to allow for stools, mobility machinery, or fold-out type lawn chairs.
Each above ground safe room can be installed in a matter of hours in any garage, closet, or outdoor covered structure. If you’re building a new home, we can preset the safe room in any desired area.
The safe room design exceeds FEMA and ICC-500 guidelines. The walls are constructed with 1/4″ metal plate and have a 2″ steel square tubing frame. The safe room is anchored to a concrete slab with 10- 1/2″X 4″ Red Head wedge anchor bolts.
